CHAPTER THREE

THE NEXT MORNING Wolf woke up alone in his bed. Alyssa must have been up before the rest of the team as she was not in her bed either. Wolf jumped out of bed to see Brock still snoring. Wolf just smiled and headed towards the kitchen leaving him to wake up on his own terms. He couldn’t help but feel excited about their first mission today. He knew Jim wouldn’t let them get into any trouble but the fact was he was finally going into the field and had a thirst to prove himself to Jim. He had never thought in a million years he would be part of something like this something greater than himself. He was even going to get paid to fight these monsters. He knew they were monsters at their core they weren’t human in fact they wanted to eat all humans so they had to be all evil right?

Wolf walked into the living room to find Alyssa chatting with Jim already with coffee in front of her. “Hey, guys what’s going on?” Wolf asked. “Not much just chatting about the mission today Jim told me what we were going to be doing and what my role was going to be,” Alyssa said to him. Her voice also had a tinge of excitement in it. “Really! Jim so what are we doing?” Wolf asked staring at Jim. Jim shook his head. “Let’s wait for Brock to get up so I don’t have to explain myself a third time. This will also give Nikki a chance to get in as she will be joining us. Why don’t you go grab some breakfast and I will go wake Brock up.” Jim said as he stood to his feet.

Wolf took his advice and headed to the kitchen and Alyssa followed him bringing her coffee. Wolf started some coffee and grabbed a muffin from a box that was on the counter. “Hey Wolf, I think we should talk about what is going on between us.” Alyssa said her green eyes piercing his soul. “Yeah we probably should.” Wolf said not sure what she was getting at. “I want us to be together but I don’t want it to interfere with what we are dealing with here. We haven’t told anyone but Brock and I am sure Jim suspects something.” Alyssa said to him. Wolf nodded in agreement. “So do you think we should tell them or let them figure it out for themselves?” Wolf said to her staring into her beautiful green eyes. “I think we should let them know after the mission tonight I don’t want it to cause any issues that could jeopardize it. We also don’t even know the rules of dating at our I guess workplace now.” She said chuckling as she finished speaking. “Ha that is true. I would hate for us to get reprimanded on our first day.” Wolf said walking up to her. He grabbed her hands and pulled her towards him.
